The Ministry of Railways has appointed Shri Milind K. Deouskar as the General Manager of Metro Railway Kolkata. Known for his extensive experience in leadership, management and operational roles across Indian Railways, he is expected to play a pivotal role in driving development and modernization in the Kolkata Metro Network.
Dual Responsibilities:
In addition to leading Metro Railway Kolkata, Shri Deouskar is also serving as the General Manager of Eastern Railway. His dual roles underscores the Ministry’s confidence in his abilities to deliver on multiple fronts. On his first working day, he held a review meeting at Metro Rail Bhavan with all Principal Officers, laying the groundwork for a forward-looking agenda.
Educational Excellence:
Shri Milind K. Deouskar is an alumnus of Maulana Azad College of Technology (now NIT Bhopal), where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He further honed his expertise through advanced management programs at INSEAD, Singapore/Malaysia, and strategic management workshops at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. His educational background combines technical depth with managerial acumen.
Professional Experience:
- Entered the Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) in 1987 and later transitioned to the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).
- Held important positions in Kalyan, Jhansi, Bhusawal, and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.
- Served as Additional Divisional Railway Manager for the Pune Division.
- Worked as Secretary of the Railway Board, New Delhi.
