Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for an EPC contract worth INR 156.35 crore from South Western Railway. The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2×25 KV Overhead Electrification (OHE) & Power Supply Installation (PSI) system from Rayadurga to Pavagada.
Project Scope:
The project spans 99.463 route kilometers (RKM) and 114.145 track kilometers (TKM), with a completion period of 18 months. The scope of work includes:
- Overhead Electrification (OHE) System: Installation of a 2×25 KV (25 KV AT feeding system), SCADA integration, foundation works, structural erections, and neutral sections.
- Safety and Operational Features: Protective screens on over-line structures, height gauges at level crossings, earthing and bonding for railway tracks, platforms, FOBs, and ROBs, as per ACTM guidelines.
- Station Electrification: Electrification of yards, sidings, and stabling lines, installation of LT transformers, CLS panels at stations, and power supply for signaling relay rooms.
- Testing and Commissioning: Integrated system testing, EIG sanction documentation, CRS inspection, and post-commissioning breakdown attention until final handover.
The project includes setting up a complete traction power supply system with:
- 2×25 KV Traction Power Substations (TSS) with Scott-connected transformers.
- Sectioning and Paralleling Posts (SP) and Sub-Sectioning and Paralleling Posts (SSP) with auto transformers.
- LT transformers for power distribution at TSS, SP, and SSP locations.
