RailTel wins three railway contracts worth over Rs. 456 crore for Kavach and Automatic Block Signalling systems

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has secured three significant contracts from Indian Railways. The projects include the implementation of the Kavach safety system on a 502.2 RKm stretch in East Central Railway and comprehensive signalling and telecom works in South Central Railway, cumulatively worth over Rs. 456 crore, enhancing railway safety and efficiency.


Contract Details:

Kavach Deployment in East Central Railway:

RailTel has been awarded a contract worth Rs. 288.14 crore for implementing Kavach, India’s indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), on a 502.2 RKm stretch of low-density railway track under East Central Railway. The project is scheduled for completion before February 20, 2027.

Automatic Block Signalling in Vijayawada Division:

RailTel secured a contract worth Rs. 56.65 crore from South Central Railway for comprehensive signalling and telecommunication works in the Errupalem–Vijayawada NWBH section of Secunderabad/Vijayawada Division. This project aims to enhance rail traffic efficiency and safety, with a completion target set for May 13, 2026.

Automatic Block Signalling in Guntakal Division:

Another key contract from South Central Railway, valued at Rs. 111.42 crore, focuses on comprehensive signalling and telecommunication works in the Nandalur–Renigunta Junction section of the Guntakal Division. The project is expected to be completed before August 16, 2026.
