Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) and Ranjit Buildcon Limited (RBL) JV has been declared as the L-1 bidder and received a major metro construction contract worth Rs. 1503.63 crore from Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL). The order is a part of Gurugram Metro Project, it involves construction of viaducts, 14 elevated stations, and infrastructure work across 15.22 km.
Introduction:
Marking a pivotal move towards urban infrastructure development in Haryana, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has awarded a significant order to the Joint venture of Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) and RBL Infrastructure. The work will improve the connectivity and ease the travelling journey of the commuters in the region.
The DBL-RBL JV has emerged as the lowest (L-1) bidder for this contract under Gurugram Metro project. The contract worth Rs. 1503.63 crore aims to improve regional connectivity and reduce congestion in heavy traffic zones. It also encourages the residents of Gurugram to go for public transport rather than private vehicles.
Scope of Work:
The contract scope of work consists the construction of a viaduct and 14 elevated stations along a section of Gurugram Metro:
- Main corridor: From Millennium City Centre to Sector 9, with a chainage from (-)381 meters to 12,603 meters
- Spur line: A 1.85 km connector to Dwarka Expressway
- Depot connectivity: Includes ramp access to Sector 33 Depot
- Underpass construction: At Bhaktawar Chowk
- Exclusions: Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structures and architectural finishing works
The total length of the corridor covered under this package is approximately 15.22 km, and the contract completion period is set at 30 months.

The Gurugram Metro Project is an ambitious project to encourage public transportation use in the region and minimise the use of private vehicles. The corridor from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City will include a 26.65 km main line, with an additional 1.85 km spur from Basai Village to Dwarka Expressway, consisting of 27 stations in total.
