Central Railway has inaugurated its first Unified Kavach Control Centre at Bhusawal Division, equipped with advanced testing, validation, and real-time monitoring systems. The centre will cover 134 locations, reinforcing operational safety, punctuality, and reliability of train services. GM Shri Dharam Veer Meena also inspected Kavach installations and inaugurated a Modular Operation Theatre.

Introduction:
Central Railway has taken a significant step forward in railway safety and operational excellence with the inauguration of its first cutting-edge Unified Kavach Control Centre at Bhusawal Division on 4th September 2025. The inauguration was led by Shri Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway, in the presence of senior officials including Shri M.S. Uppal, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, Shri S.S. Gupta, Principal Chief Operations Manager, and Shri Puneet Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Bhusawal Division.

Key Features of the Unified Kavach Control Centre:

The newly commissioned control centre will act as the central hub for monitoring and supervising the Kavach system across 134 locations within the Bhusawal Division. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, it ensures real-time monitoring of train operations, enhancing safety, reliability, and punctuality for passengers.

A standout component of the facility is the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) unit, which allows in-house testing, validation, and verification of Kavach logics before deployment. This not only improves reliability but also enables faster implementation of the Kavach system across the network. Alongside FAT, the integrated Network Management System (NMS) provides centralized supervision, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple locations.

Inspection at Dushkheda Railway Station:

On the same day, Shri Dharam Veer Meena conducted an inspection of Kavach installations at Dushkheda Railway Station. He reviewed the performance of equipment installed in the Relay Room and Station Master’s panel, visited the Kavach Tower, and examined the field wiring and associated installations.

The General Manager emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of quality, proper upkeep of systems, and timely commissioning. He guided technical teams to focus on maximizing safety benefits, ensuring operational reliability, and upholding punctuality in train services.

Enhancing Passenger and Employee Welfare:

Apart from safety advancements, Central Railway is also investing in improved healthcare services for its staff. A newly constructed Modular Operation Theatre was inaugurated at the Bhusawal Divisional Railway Hospital during the same visit. The facility will significantly enhance healthcare services for railway employees, providing them with access to modern treatment infrastructure.

The initiative reflects a holistic approach by Central Railway, focusing not just on safety in train operations but also on employee welfare and overall service quality.

A Step Towards Safer Railways:

With this inauguration, Central Railway has reinforced its commitment to adopting modern technologies aimed at building a safer, more reliable railway network. The Unified Kavach Control Centre is expected to serve as a model for future deployments across other divisions, accelerating the roll-out of Kavach nationwide.

Conclusion:
The commissioning of the Unified Kavach Control Centre at Bhusawal is a crucial step towards improving safety at Indian Railways. By binding advanced technology with precise monitoring, Central Railway is enabling safe and timely travel journeys for the passengers. This aligns with the country’s goals like ‘Make in India’ and sustainable rail modernization.
