Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has awarded a Rs. 596.4 crore contract to URC Construction Pvt. Ltd. for the design and construction of an elevated viaduct and six metro stations in Bhopal. The project includes key interchange station Pul Bogda and five others, with completion expected within 1092 days.
URC Construction will be responsible for:
- Design & construction of the viaduct and metro stations, including foundation, piers, concourse, platform, technical rooms, and station entrances.
- Structural and finishing work of both public and non-public areas such as paid/unpaid zones, system rooms, roads, footpaths, and plazas.
- Provision for passenger amenities, including lifts, escalators, and foot over bridges (FOB).
- Geotechnical borehole soil investigation for foundation design at every pier/column location.
- Rail-Structure Interaction (RSI) study to ensure track stability and alignment.
- Detailed design coordination with Project Partners and hiring a competent Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) firm.
- Independent design verification by a Design Verification Engineer (DVE) to ensure compliance and structural integrity.
- Third-party proof checking of temporary works and structures before approval.
- Regular reporting on design status and engineering modifications to MPMRCL.
