Shaping the Future of Mobility- 6th Rail & Metro Technology Conclave India 2025- Just a Week Away

Rail Analysis India is pleased to share insights on the upcoming 6th edition of the Rail & Metro Technology Conclave (RMT) 2025, scheduled to be held on 22nd and 23rd July 2025 at Hotel Le Méridien, New Delhi. Recognized as one of India’s premier events for the railway and metro technology exchange in its 6th year, the conclave continues to serve as a catalyst for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration among policymakers, government institutions, infrastructure developers, global technology providers, and thought leaders from across the mobility spectrum.

As India witnesses rapid transformation in its urban and regional transport systems, this year’s conclave will offer focused discussions on the modernization and expansion of railway projects, urban transit projects, suburban corridors and national railway infrastructure. The agenda places significant emphasis on policy frameworks, next-generation technologies, and sustainable development goals. A key thematic focus will be the rollout of Vande Bharat, the development of Metrolite and Metroneo systems, and enhancements to urban-suburban connectivity through smart and energy-efficient solutions.

Distinguished Key leaders and Industry members will be addressing and participating in various technical sessions and presentations.

Smt. D. Thara, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, will provide key insights into India’s evolving urban mobility landscape and policy interventions shaping sustainable city development. Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur, IAS – Adviser, NITI Aayog, Government of India, will share the national vision for integrated transport planning and strategic infrastructure priorities under India@2047. Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, DFCCIL, will highlight the transformative role of dedicated freight corridors in enhancing India’s logistics efficiency and easing rail network congestion.

Dr. Jaideep Gupta, Additional Member (Railway Electrification), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, will offer perspectives on the rapid electrification drive in Indian Railways and its role in achieving decarbonization goals. Shri Loknath Behera, Managing Director, Kochi Metro Rail Limited, will discuss innovations in metro systems, last-mile connectivity, and lessons from Kochi’s multimodal integration journey.

Dr. Surendra Kumar Ahirwar, Executive Director (EDTC) at the Railway Board, will present on “Achieving Mission 3000: Opportunities in Freight Modernization for the Industry”, providing insights on the future of freight corridors and the role of innovation in boosting rail-based logistics. Shri Rupesh Kohli, Executive Director – Testing at RDSO, will provide an expert overview of the “Testing Loop of Indian Railways”, an essential component of quality assurance and safety in technology deployment.

Smt. Mona Srivastava, Chief Engineer (RC), Northern Railway, will elaborate on the infrastructure enhancements under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Shri Abhinav Singh, Director – Infra at the Railway Board, along with Md. Tanveer Khan, Director (Gati Shakti/Civil), Ministry of Railways, will contribute to the discussions on digital transformation in rail and freight infrastructure.

Notable insights will also be shared by Shri Anil Kumar Agarwal, Chief Maintenance Officer at DB RRTS, who will present on the “Maintenance System for India’s First Regional Rail System – Namo Bharat”. In the domain of passenger-centric solutions, Dr. Vinita Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer, NCRTC, will present her perspective on “Elevating Passenger Travel: Safety, Comfort & Seamless Experience”. Furthermore, Shri Atul Khare, Executive Director – Infrastructure at DMRC, will explore “Modernisation in Track Infrastructure for Rail Projects”, offering insights into emerging standards for safety, speed, and resilience.

The conclave will be attended by representatives from key government bodies including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, DMRC, DFCCIL, IRCON, NCRTC, and others, alongside leaders from the private sector such as Alstom, Siemens, Hitachi Rail, Texmaco Rail, Hindalco among others. It will also feature participation from financial institutions, multilateral agencies, and innovation-driven enterprises showcasing advanced mobility solutions.
