Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approves Noida Metro DPR for extension of Aqua Line metro corridor

In a significant move towards enhancing urban mobility and providing seamless public transportation, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Noida Metro for the proposed metro corridor from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden.

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approves Detailed Project Report for extension of Aqua Line metro corridor from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden. This strategic approval marks a pivotal step in the development of the city’s metro infrastructure, promising to bring substantial benefits to the region. The new metro corridor, extending from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden, is designed to address the growing demand for efficient and reliable public transportation. This project will not only enhance connectivity but also contribute to the overall development and prosperity of the region.

Key Details of Project are as follows:

  • Total cost – Rs. 2254.35 Cr.
  • Total Length-11.56 KM
  • Number of Stations – 08 new Stations (1. Botanical Garden 2. Noida Sector – 44 3. Noida Office 4. Noida Sector – 97 5. Noida Sector – 105 6. Noida Sector – 108 7. Noida Sector – 93 8. Panchsheel Balak Inter College)

Multimodal integration with:

  • Botanical Garden Bus Stand:
    • Passengers can easily interchange between the Aqua Line and buses (Intra-City/ Inter-City) at Botanical Garden Metro station.
  • IGI Airport via Magenta Line:
    • Convenient and hassle-free direct connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal- T1) via Magenta Line of Delhi Metro.
  • Indian Railways via Blue Line:
    • Seamless commute to major Indian Railways stations (e.g., New Delhi, Anand Vihar) through the Blue Line of Delhi metro.

This corridor will provide seamless connectivity to all the commuters travelling for Noida Greater towards Delhi and vice-versa. It has expected ridership of approx. 80,000 in the initial stage. From this Botanical Garden Station will become the big Interchange Station having 03 Stations. Following this approval, the next crucial step involves forwarding the DPR to the Government of India (GOI) for final approval and funding.

The approval of DPR for extension of Aqua Line from Sector – 142 to Botanical Garden is a testament of ongoing efforts of Noida Metro to enhance its connectivity with Delhi Metro and provide seamless transportation options to the commuters to the important destinations of Delhi in a bid to improve quality of life and access to opportunities to the general public.
