RVNL awarded Rs. 167 crore contract for electrical upgrade by South Eastern Railway

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant INR 167 crore contract from South Eastern Railway for the upgrade of the electric traction system in the Rajkharsawan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of the Chakradharpur Division. This project is aimed at enhancing the electrical infrastructure to support increased rail capacity and efficiency.

The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from South Eastern Railway for upgradation of electric traction system for Rajkharsawan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur Division to meet 3000 MT loading target.

Brief about the Tender/Order:

  • Name of Work: Design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning for upgradation of electric traction system from 1 x 25 KV to 2 x 25 KV traction system for Rajkharsawan – Nayagarh – Bolani section of Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3000 MT loading target.
  • Time period by which the order(s)/contract(s) to be executed is: 18 Months.
  • Broad consideration or size of the order(s)/contract(s) is: Rs. 167,28,12,874.95/-

In May, 2024: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) was awarded a substantial contract valued at approximately INR 390 crores by Eastern Railway. This contract involves the construction of the Sitarampur bypass line under the Asansol Division. Read here
