RITES secures Rs. 531.77 crore electrification contract for Lumding-Badarpur section

RITES Limited has been awarded a Rs. 531.77 crore project for the electrification of the Lumding-Badarpur section under the Northeast Frontier Railway. The scope includes internal electrification, high mast lighting, pathway illumination, training, and commissioning, marking another milestone in railway infrastructure development in India’s northeast region.


Scope of Work:

The project encompasses a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Electrification of residential staff quarters, colonies, offices, and depots.
  • Design and provision of:
    • High mast lighting with LED luminaires and pathway illumination.
    • Lux calculation, cable/wire route design, and location drawings.
  • Supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of high mast and octagonal poles.
  • Maintenance training for high mast lighting systems, substations, and related components.
  • Preparation and submission of “As Erected Drawings,” including layouts and single-line diagrams.
  • Coordination with railway electrical departments and state electricity authorities for power supply and approvals.
  • Supervision and maintenance during the defect liability period.
