Rail Vikas Nigam Limited secures key railway sector contracts worth over Rs. 2,000 crore

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder for three major railway contracts, covering Bengaluru’s Suburban Rail, Eastern Railway’s multi-tracking project, and South Central Railway’s track doubling initiative. These projects, valued at over ₹2,000 crore, will enhance rail connectivity across Karnataka, West Bengal, and Maharashtra.


Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (Package C4A):

  • Scope: Construction of nine stations (eight at-grade, one elevated) along Corridor-4A for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project.
  • Works Included: Civil, structural, entry/exit structures, steel FOBs, roof structures, pre-engineered building (PEB) works, architectural finishes, electrical & mechanical (E&M) works, and detailed design.
  • JV Details: RVNL holds a 51% share, and Rithwik Projects Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL) holds 49%.
  • Contract Value: Rs. 613 crore.
  • Completion Time: 24 months.

Eastern Railway Multi-Tracking Project:

Scope: Earthwork, bridge construction (minor and major), level crossings, side drains, catch water drains, and P-way works from Kalipahari to Pradhankhuta.

JV Details: RVNL holds a 74% share, and Shyam Constructions Pvt. Ltd. (SCPL) holds 26%.

Contract Value: Rs. 837.67 crore.

Completion Time: 36 months.

South Central Railway Doubling Project (Parbhani to Parli):

Scope: Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for doubling the track from Parbhani to Parli, including electrification and signaling works.

Exclusions: Gangakhed yard from km 292.075 to km 298.85.

Contract Value: Rs. 625.08 crore.

Completion Time: 30 months.

Conclusion:

These new contracts highlight RVNL’s continued success and expertise in executing large-scale railway projects. By expanding suburban rail in Bengaluru, enhancing Eastern Railway’s capacity, and improving connectivity in Maharashtra, RVNL reinforces its role in transforming India’s railway infrastructure for more efficient and reliable transportation.
