PM Modi inaugurates Rs. 1,579 crore rail development projects in Prayagraj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several rail infrastructure projects in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, worth over Rs. 1,579 crore. These include multiple Road Over Bridges (ROBs), passenger amenities at six stations, doubling and electrification of critical rail lines, and Road Under Bridges (RUBs), aimed at enhancing safety, connectivity, and travel efficiency for millions.


Road Over Bridges (ROBs): Enhancing Mobility and Safety (Estimated Cost: Rs. 375 crore):

  • Two-lane ROB at LC-3 (Begum Bazar ROB)
  • Two-lane ROB at LC-4 in Bamrauli-Manauri Section
  • Two-lane ROB at 34/A (Chheoki)
  • Two-lane ROBs at LC Nos. 75, 76, and 78/SPL across various sections in Prayagraj
  • ROB at LC-31 in Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya-Prayagraj Section

Modernized Passenger Amenities at Six Stations:

    • Passenger facilities have been upgraded at Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki, Naini Junction, Subedarganj, Jhusi, and Prayagraj Rambag Stations.
    • Estimated Cost: Rs. 226 crore
  • Benefits:
    • State-of-the-art amenities for passengers
    • Improved accessibility for Divyangjans
    • Enhanced passenger flow within station premises

Doubling and Electrification of Prayagraj Junction:

    • The electronic interlocking system at Prayagraj Junction has been modernized.
    • Estimated Cost: Rs. 88 crore
  • Benefits:
    • Improved train punctuality
    • Enhanced operational efficiency

Doubling and Electrification of Jhusi-Prayagraj Rail Line:

    • This project includes the construction of an important bridge over the Ganga River.
    • Estimated Cost: Rs. 850 crore
  • Benefits:
    • Efficient connectivity to metropolitan cities
    • Enhanced line capacity
    • Resolution of bottlenecks from the single-line Ganga bridge

RUBs: Ensuring Safety and Connectivity (Estimated Cost: Rs. 40 crore):

  • RUB at LC-77/SPL in Prayag Yard
  • Widening of RUB at LC-110 in Jhusi
  • Two-lane RUB at LC-66/C (Andawa-Kanihar Marg)
