Patna Metro Update: Shri Daljeet Singh, DMRC Advisor inspects pre-monsoon preparations at construction sites

Patna Metro marches forward with its construction under the superior guidance of Shri Daljeet SinghDMRC Advisor (Special Works), with an aim to expedite the construction work as much as possible, before the arrival of monsoon without compromising public safety and convenience.

Advisor (Special Works) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Shri Daljeet Singh inspected the construction sites of Patna Metro Rail Project and directed the officials to expedite the construction work along with safety and security of people, as well as start pre-monsoon preparations at all metro stations.

During Inspection:

  • He inspected the ongoing civil, electrical and track related works at Malahi Pakadi, Cut and Cover, Bhootnath Road, ISBT Depot, Bihar Museum, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University and Moin Ul Haq Stadium Metro Station construction sites.
  • Shri Singh directed the Metro officials to complete as much construction work as possible at all the construction sites before the arrival of monsoon.
  • He instructed them to handle the encroachment issue at Malhi Pakadi site as soon as possible and complete the pending pier work.
  • He asked to complete the ground development work at Bhoothnath, Zero Mile and ISBT Depot Metro Station, which includes repairing the footpath around the site, making access ramps for lifts etc. soon. He directed the completion of the entry and exit points and finishing work of all the stations.
  • Liaison the construction being done by RCD on Badshahi drain near ISBT Depot so that the ongoing Metro construction work there can be expedited.
  • Apart from this, the construction agency was instructed to make proper arrangements for lighting in the depot before monsoon, install high mast lights, and complete the RSS work soon.
  • The contractor engaged in construction at Bihar Museum was instructed to complete the roof slab construction work before monsoon.
  • Instructed to repair the road adjacent to the site near Akashvani Metro Station so that people do not face any problem in commuting.
  • In PMCH, he asked to barricade the Metro construction areas and de-mark the entry and exit points in a proper manner.
  • At Patna University, he inspected the drive and site setup of TBM-1, besides instructing to re-launch TBM-2 and start mining work before the monsoon.

Shri Singh said that Metro is committed to minimum inconvenience along with quality of work and safety of citizens in the areas around Metro construction sites. In view of which, footpaths and roads should be repaired everywhere around the Metro construction site so that people do not face any problem in commuting.

Shri Singh Directed DMRC Officials:

  • He also directed DMRC officials to ensure compliance from the contractors regarding removal of encroachment from narrow routes parallel to the construction sites
  • Parallel road arrangement to get rid of traffic jams around the Metro construction sites
  • Cleanliness, providing proper zebra crossing facility for pedestrians at places where there is a change in the routes due to construction
  • Besides inspecting the progress in the works of Patna Metro, Shri Singh also inspected the facilities available on the site for the Metro staff and workers like bathrooms, rest area, canteen etc.

Under the resourceful guidance of Shri Daljeet Singh, Advisor (Special Works) DMRC, Patna Metro is expected to meet the pre-monsoon construction deadlines and navigate through various complexities in a professional manner along with ensuring safety, cleanliness and convenience for both public and the workers.
