In a move to elevate commuter convenience, NMRC has launched Cashless Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across all stations on the Aqua Line, coinciding with its 10th Foundation Day. Designed to streamline ticket purchasing with UPI payment options, these machines offer quick and user-friendly ticketing solutions for single, return, and group journeys.
Enhanced Ticketing Convenience:
Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC’s) newly installed TVMs are designed to reduce wait times at ticket counters and simplify the ticket purchasing process. Key features include:
- Cashless Transactions: Passengers can now make payments exclusively via UPI, offering a straightforward and efficient experience.
- Multiple Ticket Options: The machines dispense QR code-based tickets for single, return, and group journeys, covering various commuter needs.
- Passenger-Friendly Design: Positioned strategically across stations, these machines aim to prevent crowding at ticket counters, promoting smoother passenger flow.
Digital-First Approach:
With 88 machines installed across 21 stations on the Aqua Line, NMRC has tailored the TVM distribution to match each station’s footfall. For instance, Sector-51 station, a high-traffic hub, has 15 TVMs, while Pari Chowk and Knowledge Park-II each have eight machines. These locations were chosen to enhance accessibility and reduce bottlenecks, especially during peak hours.
Future-Ready Infrastructure:
NMRC’s vision extends beyond ticket dispensing. The TVMs are future-ready, with plans to incorporate smart card recharge functionality, fostering a faster, cash-free commuter experience. This aligns with NMRC’s long-term mission to develop a world-class, fully automated metro system.
Conclusion:
The launch of these cashless TVMs underscores NMRC’s dedication to modernization and commuter ease. By integrating more digital solutions, NMRC moves closer to a world-class transit system that champions convenience, efficiency, and innovation, reflecting its vision for a seamless and accessible metro experience.
