The Ahmedabad HSR station embodies the city’s cultural heritage, while the Sabarmati Depot integrates cutting-edge technology and sustainability to support India’s first high-speed rail corridor.
Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (HSR) Station – Key Highlights:
- Cultural Inspiration: The station’s design reflects Ahmedabad’s rich cultural heritage, with a roof inspired by colorful kites and a façade patterned after Syed Siddique’s intricate Jaali latticework.
- Spacious Design: Spanning 38,000 sq. m, the station is being constructed above platforms 10, 11, and 12 of the Western Railway station.
- Platforms: It will feature 2 platforms to accommodate the high-speed rail operations.
- Height: The station’s structure will rise to an impressive 33.73 meters above ground level.
- Progress Update: The 435-meter-long concourse level slab has been completed, and work on the platform level slab is ongoing.
Sabarmati Rolling Stock Depot – Key Highlights:
- State-of-the-Art Facilities: Spread across 83 hectares, it includes inspection bays, washing plants, workshops, sheds, and stabling lines.
- Future Expansion: Plans to expand to 8 inspection lines and 29 stabling lines, ensuring readiness for increased operations.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Rainwater harvesting, wastewater recycling, and provisions for future solar power generation of up to 14 MW.
- Comprehensive Maintenance: Features a dedicated test track, bogie exchange lines, and centralized control for efficient operations.
- Holistic Environment: Includes staff amenities like dining rooms, auditoriums, and training facilities for seamless operations.
