NCRTC and Airtel Payments Bank introduce NCMC cards for RRTS corridor

NCRTC, in collaboration with Airtel Payments Bank, has launched Namo Bharat NCMC-enabled cards for convenient travel on Namo Bharat trains and everyday transactions. These contactless cards provide seamless connectivity with public transport and can be used for retail purchases, enhancing the travel experience under the ‘One Nation, One Card‘ initiative.

The cards were launched at NCRTC corporate office by key executives, highlighting the initiative’s significance in promoting seamless connectivity and payment convenience for commuters.

Availability and Technology of Namo Bharat Cards:

  • Exclusively issued by Airtel Payments Bank, featuring tap-and-pay technology.

  • Available at all RRTS stations post-KYC verification and via the Airtel Thanks app.

One Nation, One Card Initiative and Unified Payment System:

Current Operations and Future Developments:

The 42 km section of the corridor between Sahibabad and Meerut South is operational, serving 9 stations. Full corridor, including Meerut Metro, is expected to be operational by June 2025.
