NCC Limited wins Rs. 501 crore contract for station construction in Bengaluru suburban rail project

NCC Limited has been awarded a contract worth Rs. 501 crore by Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited for building eight stations on Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project’s Mallige Line (Corridor-2). The 25.57 km project includes elevated and at-grade stations with advanced passenger-friendly designs, to be completed in 24 months.

  • Scope of Work:
    • Construction of eight stations (1 elevated interchange, 3 elevated, and 4 at-grade).
    • Includes civil, structural, and architectural works, steel foot over bridges, façade, plumbing, and more.
  • Station Details:
    • Locations: Benniganahalli, Kasturi Nagar, Seva Nagar, Banaswadi, Nagawara, Kanaka Nagar, Hebbal, and Mathikere.
    • Designed for multimodal integration, smooth passenger flow, and security.
  • Design Elements:
    • Multimodal integration and systematic passenger movement.
    • Adequate space for ground-level to platform connectivity.
    • Secure station layouts.
  • Structural Components:
    • Foundations: Pile or raft foundations with geotechnical investigations.
    • Lift shafts, escalator pits, water tanks, and waterproofing solutions.
    • Bore wells with automated water management systems.
  • Safety Features:
    • Crash barriers for piers and columns near traffic roads.
    • Traffic and pedestrian flow protection during construction.
    • Maximum platform stepping distance maintained at 75mm or gap fillers installed.
  • Operational Considerations:
    • Interfacing with rolling stock and track partners.
    • Compliance with all engineering specifications for passenger safety.
