Nagpur Metro awards Rs. 3.86 crore tender to S.P. Bhave for comprehensive infrastructure repair and maintenance

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited has awarded a Rs. 3.86 crore contract to M/s. S.P. Bhave for the repair and maintenance of civil structures across 38 metro stations, 2 rolling stock depots, and 40 km of viaducts in Nagpur Metro. The two-year contract ensures continuous upkeep of critical infrastructure for seamless metro operations.


Scope of the Contract:

The contract encompasses a broad range of activities, including rectification of viaduct defects, repair of doors, windows, and plastering, as well as periodical painting, waterproofing, and replacement of sanitary fixtures. The maintenance efforts span two key alignments:

  • Line-1, Orange Line (North-South Corridor): Length: 19.66 km, Stations: 18
  • Line-2, Aqua Line (East-West Corridor): Length: 18.58 km, Stations: 20

The contractor is tasked with ensuring seamless operations by addressing both routine maintenance and on-demand repairs as directed by the Maha-Metro engineers.

Key Responsibilities of the Contractor:

  • Repair of malfunctioning doors, windows, and fittings.
  • Replacement of broken glasses and panels.
  • Viaduct structure defect rectification.
  • Wall plastering and flooring patchwork repairs.
  • Whitewashing, painting, and waterproofing.
  • Sanitary fixture replacements and water supply maintenance.
  • Provision of tools, equipment, and materials at the contractor’s expense.

Project Duration and Importance:

The contract will run for two years from the date specified in the Letter of Award (LOA). This initiative is pivotal for maintaining high standards of safety, aesthetics, and functionality across the Nagpur Metro network, which plays a critical role in urban mobility for the region.
