The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) awarded a significant contract to Larsen & Toubro Limited for designing and constructing the mainline elevated viaduct and 14 metro stations from Agra Cantt. to Kalindi Vihar. The project is valued at Rs. 1,242 crore with a completion timeline of 30 months.
Project Scope & Details:
- Viaduct Construction: The project (Tender No. AGCC-07) includes the design and construction of a 15 km elevated viaduct, connecting Agra Cantt Metro Station to Kalindi Vihar Metro Station. Additionally, it includes viaduct connections with ramps and entry/exit lines for both Corridor 1 and Corridor 2.
- Stations Covered: The project encompasses the construction of 14 elevated stations—Agra Cantt, Sadar Bazar, Pratap Pura, Collectorate, Agra College, Hariparvat Chauraha, Sanjay Place, M.G. Road, Sultanganj Crossing, Kamla Nagar, Ram Bagh, Foundry Nagar, Agra Mandi, and Kalindi Vihar.
- Associated Works: Civil works include structural designs, pile foundations, pier construction, and the building of parapets, bearings, and reinforcement. The project also involves ancillary structures, water and drainage systems, fire safety provisions, and pre-engineered building (PEB) structures.
Design and Construction Details:
- Foundation & Structure: The contractor is responsible for designing and constructing pile foundations, piers (including cantilever and portals), pier caps, and all structures required for the superstructure.
- Viaduct and Ramps: The viaduct connection includes design and construction with arch girders and ramp structures to ensure seamless train interchange between corridors.
- Non-Standard Spans & Bearings: Construction of non-standard spans, bearings (POT/PTFE/Spherical/Elastomeric), and seismic restrainers as required.
