K-RIDE assigns Rs. 104 crore contract to Rahee Infratech for track works on Bengaluru Suburban Railway Corridor-2

K-RIDE has assigned Rahee Infratech Limited a contract worth over Rs. 103.92 crore for track works on Corridor 2 of Bengaluru Suburban Railway project. This order includes ballastless and ballasted track systems, fastenings, and turnouts from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara, including Soladevanahalli Depot, and will be completed in 24 months.


Brief on Contract Award:

In order to expedite the work on the project, K-RIDE (Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited) has selected Rahee Infratech Limited for a key infrastructure package under the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP). The contract is valued at Rs.103.92 crore and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

Contractor Responsibilities and Work Includes:

  • The design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of ballastless and ballasted track systems.
  • The provision and installation of fastening systems and turnouts, including scissor crossovers.
  • The coverage spans from Chainage -1413 to 27029 on Corridor 2, stretching from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara.
  • The specialized tracks and infrastructure within Soladevanahalli Depot include washing lines, column lines, buffer stops, and embedded tracks.

Depot & Track Construction Requirements:

  • The contractor must supply RDSO-approved turnout systems and fastenings.
  • Provision of mechanised handling and transport for all construction materials.
  • The contractor must also arrange for a mobile flash butt welding plant and equipment for rail welding using UIC 60 IRS-T-12-2009 (880-grade rails).
  • The design and validation of turnout sleepers in coordination with other contractors and suppliers is included.

Interfacing and Collaboration:

  • Rahee Infratech is required to work in close coordination with the civil, structural, and system contractors as well as Detailed Design Consultants appointed by K-RIDE.
  • The project involves detailed construction drawings, GPS-based alignment setting, and rigorous testing and commissioning protocols.
  • Documentation will cover all execution stages, including installation manuals, as-built drawings, and test procedures.

Conclusion:

This contract marks a major step forward in the implementation of Corridor 2 under the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project. With comprehensive track and turnout work awarded to Rahee Infratech, K-RIDE is progressing steadily toward modernizing Bengaluru’s rail infrastructure and enhancing regional connectivity with high-quality, future-ready systems.
