Indore Metro Yellow Line Update: 8th metro train set arrives at Gandhi Nagar Depot

The Indore Metro Yellow Line marks a significant step with the safe arrival of its 8th train set at Gandhi Nagar Depot. This milestone reflects continued progress in the city’s mass rapid transit system, with Managing Director Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya commending the team for their efforts toward a reliable transit solution.


Milestone Achievement:

The 8th set of rolling stock for the Indore Metro’s Yellow Line has successfully arrived and been unloaded at the Gandhi Nagar Depot, pushing the city’s rapid transit project closer to its goal. Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya, IAS, Managing Director of MPMRCL, extended his congratulations to the team involved.

Recent Progress:

In August, Indore Metro saw the safe arrival of a new 3-car train set, increasing the total count to six. This is part of the continuous effort to expand the Yellow Line, which will provide efficient, reliable transportation for Indore’s residents.

Alstom’s Role:

  • Alstom is supplying a total of 52 trainsets, split between Indore and Bhopal.
  • These trains can operate at speeds of up to 80 km/h across the 31.5 km stretch in Indore and 31 km in Bhopal.
  • The Yellow Line will feature 29 stations and will enhance metro connectivity across the city’s busiest areas.

Project Overview:

The Indore Metro Yellow Line, covering 31.55 km and including 29 stations with a mix of underground and overground sections, will play a vital role in connecting the northern and central parts of the city. The line will follow major road networks and will form a closed loop.
