Hiliks Technologies secures Rs. 28 crore signalling contract for Basara-Navipet doubling project

Hiliks Technologies Limited has been awarded a Rs. 28 crore sub-contract from RailOne-Medikonda JV for comprehensive signalling and telecommunication works. The project involves the doubling of tracks between Basara and Navipet stations, including electronic interlockingOFC communications, and the implementation of the Kavach safety system, with an 18-month timeline.


Project Overview:

The project spans from Basara station (incl) to Navipet station (incl) and is aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety. A significant aspect of the contract includes the deployment of the Kavach system, an indigenous train protection system that ensures safe and smooth train operations.

Key Features of the Project:

  • Electronic Interlocking: This will modernise signalling systems, allowing for automated and secure train movements.
  • OFC Communications: Optical fibre communications will be installed to ensure high-speed and reliable data transmission for signalling and other operations.
  • Kavach Implementation: The Kavach system will enhance safety by providing real-time monitoring, collision avoidance, and automatic braking functionalities.

Timeline and Financial Details:

The awarded value of the project is Rs. 28,05,33,544 crore, with a completion timeline of 18 months. This ambitious timeline underscores the urgency of upgrading railway infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the sector.
