HBL-Shivakriti consortium wins Rs. 148 crore contract for Kavach deployment in Bhopal Division

HBL Engineering, in collaboration with Shivakriti International, has secured a Rs. 148.44 crore contract from West Central Railway for implementing the KAVACH safety system across key railway sections in Bhopal Division. The project, aimed at enhancing train safety and collision prevention, will be completed within 540 days, strengthening India’s railway modernization  drive.


Project Scope:

The awarded contract involves the deployment of KAVACH technology in the following critical railway sections:

  • Bina-Itarsi-Jujharpur section
  • Bhopal-SHRN section
  • Up and Down flyover track from Jujharpur to Powarkheda

KAVACH, an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, is designed to prevent train collisions and enhance operational safety by enabling real-time speed regulation, automatic braking, and signal adherence.

Significance of the Project:

With railway safety being a top priority for Indian Railways, this contract strengthens the government’s mission to modernize railway infrastructure. The integration of KAVACH in these sections will significantly reduce the risk of accidents, improve train operations, and ensure safer passenger movement.
