DFCCIL conducts key inspection of New Makarpura–Saphale section on WDFC

Shri Pankaj Saxena, Director/Project Planning, conducted a high-level inspection of the New Makarpura to New Saphale section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC). Accompanied by senior DFCCIL officials, the visit also included a plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability along the corridor and station areas.


Introduction:

In a significant development for the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network, Shri Pankaj Saxena, Director/Project Planning at DFCCIL, conducted a detailed inspection of the New Makarpura – New Saphale section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

Strategic Inspection by Senior Leadership:

The inspection was attended by a team of senior officials including Shri G.D. Bhagwani (ED/AM), Shri Vikas Kumar (CGM/Mumbai North), Shri Manish Awasthi (CGM/Ahmedabad), Shri Jitendra Srivastava (GGM/Security), Shri Vikas Kumar Srivastava (GGM/S&T/WC), Shri Ranvijay (GGM/Electricals), and other members from DFCCIL and field units.

Importance of Inspection:

The purpose of the inspection was to assess the readiness and operational parameters of this important stretch of the corridor, which plays a vital role in easing freight traffic and enhancing logistics efficiency across the region.

Green Initiative for Sustainable Growth:

As part of the visit, Shri Saxena also initiated a plantation drive, aimed at boosting greenery and improving the aesthetic and environmental value of the corridor. The drive emphasized DFCCIL’s commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious infrastructure development, particularly along the rail tracks and station surroundings.

Successful Trial Run on DFCCIL OP/BD Section:

The first train’s trial run from New Umbergaon to IR Saphale on the DFCCIL OP/BD section marks a key milestone. This progress showcases the commitment and tireless efforts driving the Dedicated Freight Corridor forward, ensuring enhanced freight connectivity and operational readiness in the western corridor.
