The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), MD, Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya conducted a detailed inspection of the Bhopal Metro priority corridor from Subhash Nagar Depot to AIIMS. During the visit, he stressed the importance of completing the project on schedule, ensuring adequate drainage systems, finishing station entry and exit points, and enhancing road access to facilitate smooth public traffic flow.

During Inspection:
- During the site inspection, the MD engaged with senior officials from MPMRCL, the General Consultant, and contractors, focusing on the critical aspects of the Priority Corridor.
- He visited the Subhash Nagar Depot and all the metro stations within the priority section to personally assess the construction progress.

- Expressing satisfaction with the work accomplished thus far, he emphasised the importance of meeting deadlines and directed all stakeholders to expedite the completion of the remaining tasks.
- He specifically instructed the depot contractor to implement effective drainage systems within the depot area and urged the station contractor to finalise the entry-exit points of the remaining stations.
- Additionally, he called for the development of surrounding roads and the removal of barricades to facilitate smooth traffic flow for the public.
- He also instructed MPMRCL officials, contractors, and the General Consultant for weekly progress updates to ensure continuous monitoring and timely execution of the project.

Recent Update:
On August 21: MPMRCL successfully completed a significant milestone at the Habibganj Naka railway crossing for the Bhopal Metro Priority Corridor. Two 33.5m MG girders were installed over the railway track using 200-ton cranes, all within a 2-hour block provided by Indian Railways. The next major task is the installation of a 65m, 416-ton Open Web Girder.
