Bangalore Metro: Systra bags Rs. 20.65 crore DDC contract for Phase-3 project

In a significant push to enhance metro connectivity in the city, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has awarded orders worth Rs. 10.7 crore and Rs. 9.95 crore to Systra JV for Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) services. The work includes designing elevated viaducts, double-decker stations, road flyovers, and multimodal integration structures for Corridors 1 and 2 of the crucial Phase-3 Metro expansion project.


Introduction:

Systra in joint venture with Systra MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd. received a contract from BMRCL for two major Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) contracts in Phase-3 of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. These contracts, totaling over Rs. 20.65 crore, aim to enhance metro connectivity with new corridors featuring elevated stations, road flyovers, and multimodal integration structures.

Contract Details and Scope:

The first contract, valued at Rs. 10.7 crore, covers design services for Corridor-2, extending from Hosahalli Station to Kadabagere Station, including a lap portion and Sumanahalli Cross Station. The scope includes elevated viaducts, single and double-decker stations, entry/exit structures, ramps, and depots at Sumanahalli and Peenya.

The second contract, worth Rs. 9.95 crore, pertains to Corridor-1, spanning from JP Nagar 4th Phase to BDA Complex Nagarbhavi Station. The scope is similar, covering essential metro structures along the alignment.

  • Preparing detailed designs for structural components, including stations, flyovers, and depots.
  • Coordinating with other project consultants to ensure seamless integration.
  • Implementing efficient and safe engineering solutions using advanced technology.
  • Addressing any performance gaps to meet project milestones.

About Bangalore Metro Phase-3:

  • Corridor-1: JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura
  • Corridor-2: Hosahalli to Kadabagere

With a combined length of 44.65 km and 31 elevated stations, Phase-3 aims to significantly enhance metro connectivity across Bangalore.
