Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has awarded SM Construction & Co. a contract worth Rs. 9.62 crore for constructing administrative and Back-Up Control Center (BCC) buildings in Baiyappanahalli and Peenya Depots. The project includes modern facilities, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable infrastructure, ensuring enhanced operational efficiency for metro services.
Scope of Work for the Contractor:
Construction at Baiyappanahalli Depot (Admin Building, G+2):
- Ground Floor: Parking (2-wheeler: 4, Car: 21), security room, toilets, and utilities.
- First Floor: Cabins, workstations, pantry, and reception with a 560 sqm area.
- Second Floor: Lounge, cabins, and additional workstations, covering 660 sqm.
- Provisions for stormwater drainage, solar lighting, rainwater harvesting, and water supply systems.
Construction at Peenya Depot (BCC Building, G+4):
- Ground Floor: UPS room, electrical panel, lift shafts, and freight lift walls (325 sqm).
- First to Third Floors: Equipment and surveillance rooms, SCADA server room, and support spaces (approx. 366 sqm each floor).
- Terrace: Dining area and pantry (63 sqm).
- Includes rainwater harvesting, utility relocation, and sustainable infrastructure upgrades.
The project also involves demolishing existing structures, safe waste disposal, and architectural finishing works, valued total Rs. 9,62,18,914 crore at Baiyappanahalli and Peenya Depots. The project, set to be completed in 18 months, aims to boost metro operations with enhanced facilities.
