The Agra Metro project has reached a significant milestone with the successful tunnel breakthrough at the Raja Ki Mandi metro station. Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) 3 has accomplished this critical phase, marking a major achievement in the construction of the underground section of the first corridor.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) is making remarkable progress on the Agra Metro project. Recently, Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) 3 achieved a significant breakthrough at the Raja Ki Mandi metro station, completing the remaining underground section of the first corridor, which spans from Taj East Gate to Sikandra. This milestone marks the completion of the tunnel construction in the upline from the RBS ramp area to the Raja Ki Mandi metro station, demonstrating steady and efficient advancement in the project.

Corridor – 1: Sikandra to Taj East Gate:
- This corridor consists of 15 stations (14 Km) elevated and Underground stretches along with Switch over Ramps (SOR).
- Sikandra – Taj East Gate corridor will have a maintenance facility at PAC Depot which will have the infrastructure to maintain 37 rakes of 3 cars.
- The rake requirement for Sikandra to Taj East corridor is 37 rakes of 3 cars for the ultimate design year.
- PAC depot on Sikandra to Taj East corridor is planned with 12 lines of 6 car length each i.e. capacity of 24 rakes of 3 cars each.
- At a given time, three rakes would remain under inspection and the remaining rakes will be stabled at terminal/enroute stations for the start of early morning services.
