KANOHAR, a leading player in power equipment manufacturing and EPC solutions, announces a new benchmark in India’s rail infrastructure. Breaking ground in a field traditionally dominated by multinationals, KANOHAR has become the first manufacturer in India to secure RDSO approval for a 100MVA 220/2×55 kV Scott- connected transformer, following rigorous short circuit testing at National High Power Test Laboratory and a series of other critical tests.
This achievement builds on KANOHAR’s previous successes, including the 100MVA 132KV scott- connected transformer and essential traction transformers such as the 30.24MVA ratings at 220kV and 132kV-integral to the Indian Railways’ Electrification programme and Mission Raftaar High- Speed Rail Corridor, enabling trains to reach speeds of up to 160 kmph.
Manufactured at our Meerut facility in Delhi NCR, these transformers are a testament to the “Make-in-India” vision and Decarbonisation mission of the Central Government, championed by RDSO in the Railways sector. With a proven track record of over 200 ratings up to 500MVA 400kV class, extensively tested for Dynamic Short Circuit Withstand Capability at premier labs like CPRI and NHPTL, KANOHAR is driving the future of innovation, reliability, and commitment in India’s energy transition.
