MD S. K. Chaitanya leads 11 km inspection and trolley trial on Indore Metro corridor

Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya, IAS, MD of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, conducted a trolley trial and on-site inspection covering an 11-km stretch from Malviya Nagar Chauraha to Super Corridor 01. Prior to inspection of the Indore metro corridor section a thorough review meeting was also held to check the status of pending works and expedite project goals.


Introduction:

In a significant advancement towards the development of Indore Metro, Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya, IAS, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), recently led an on-site inspection and trolley trial. Malviya Nagar Chauraha Station to Super Corridor 01 section was inspected by him, a vital part of the Indore metro project.

Prior to this inspection Shri S. K. Chaitanya also held a review meeting where he discussed all the pending projects and system works, emphasising on timely completion of the project.  

He instructed that all remaining work of infrastructure—including finishing, electrical, signalling, and platform readiness—must be completed as soon as possible to meet project timelines.

  • Route Inspected- Malviya Nagar Chauraha to Super Corridor 01 (~11 km)

  • Civil structure completion

This initiative is part of a broader effort to make the Indore Metro partially operational in the near future and eventually enable efficient urban transit services across the city.

Strategic Review Meeting to Fast-track Execution:

Just two days prior to the field inspection, Shri Chaitanya chaired a vital review meeting that witnessed the presence of several stakeholders of the Indore Metro Rail Project. The session included-

  • Heads of Departments (HoDs) from MPMRCL
  • Key representatives from the General Consultant (GC) team
  • Senior officials from the contracting agencies

The meeting focused on:

  • Identifying challenges in civil and E&M (Electrical & Mechanical) works
  • Boosting procurement and delivery of essential equipment
  • Integration timelines for system works
  • Checking manpower deployment and work shifts for round-the-clock progress

All parties were instructed to accelerate coordination, ensure daily progress reporting, and solve technical or execution-level issues at the earliest.

Conclusion:

With on-ground inspections and high-level meetings being held, the Indore Metro project is advancing towards operational services. The leadership’s hands-on approach and team coordination shows a strong effort to deliver an advanced mass transit system that will reinforce urban mobility in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital.
