In a major stride towards operational efficiency and employee skill development, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) inaugurated an Operations Training Center at its Koyambedu Depot. This strategic step will provide the latest tools, knowledge, and technical expertise to the team, it will help to cater the needs of the metro sector in the country.
CMRL was founded in 2007 and began passenger operations in 2015, it has firmly established itself as a pioneer in urban transit in India. With 10 years of experience, the organization continues to set records in training, safety, and customer experience.

Key Features of the Training Center:
- Smart Classrooms: A spacious facility with a seating capacity for 100 trainees, enabling instructor-led sessions enhanced with digital learning tools.
- Computer-Based Training (CBT) Room: Housing 26 individual workstations, this setup is designed to simulate real-world operational scenarios through interactive modules.
- Dedicated Meeting Room: A 20-seat room for collaborative discussions, performance reviews, and strategy sessions.
- Modern Equipment: All rooms are equipped with high-end audio-visual systems, ensuring an immersive and effective learning experience.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Shri M.A. Siddique, I.A.S., Managing Director of CMRL, who emphasized the importance of training in sustaining metro excellence. He was joined by Shri Manoj Goyal, IRSEE (Director, Systems & Operations), Shri S. Krishnamoorthy, IRAS (Director, Finance), and other senior CMRL officials and staff members.

The training center is envisioned as a centralized hub for upskilling CMRL’s workforce, especially in:
