The work of track laying for the balanced elevated section from KD Singh Babu stadium to Munshipulia has picked up a very good momentum. The track work between Lekhraj Market Metro station to Indira Nagar Metro station has been completed just in 35 days of work since 18th January 2018 when the work of track laying commenced.
The work of balanced section of North-South corridor from Badshah Nagar towards KD Singh Babu stadium has been going on a fast pace. Total 18 km track (up & down line) will be laid on elevated section between K D Singh Babu Stadium to Munshi Pulia and out of this 2.5 Kilometer of the track has already been completed between the stretch of Badshah Nagar and Indira Nagar.
The work of 25kV AC Overhead Conductor System (OHE) is in progress simultaneously in the elevated section (from KD Singh Babu stadium to Munshipulia) of North – South Corridor. Erection of OHE masts is in full swing and it is almost completed between Lekhraj Market Metro Station to Indira Nagar Metro station. Erection of cantelivers which hold the conductor will start soon.
To feed power in Rolling Stock 25kV AC Overhead Conductor System(OHE) is used in the elevated section from KD Singh Babu Station to Munsipulia station.
LMRC is committed to complete all the work of this elevated section within the stipulated time so that it can start the train trails on time.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Metro yesterday (i.e. 22.02.2018) received the 11th set of Metro train at its Transport Nagar Metro depot. The trains, which are being manufactured by Alstom Transport at their manufacturing plant in Sri City (Andhra Pradesh), are transported through special trailers by road with pilot vehicles in the front & the rear.
This set of Metro train was dispatched for Lucknow on 10th February, 2018 from Sri City. Each coach (car) is loaded on a special trailer having 64 wheels. A 180 tonne crane is used to unload 40 tonne car using a special spreader.
All necessary trials have been conducted at the manufacturing plant. Only dynamic trials of the train are required to be done in the Depot upon its arrival in Lucknow.
