Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the RailOne app, a single-window digital platform to accelerate passenger experience with services like ticket booking, live train tracking, grievances, and more. Launched on CRIS’s 40th Foundation Day, this app aims to simplify rail travel with one login and user-friendly features.

On the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw officially launched RailOne, a unified mobile application designed to revolutionize the railway passenger experience. The launch event took place at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi and marks a significant milestone in Indian Railways’ ongoing digital transformation journey.
A Unified App for All Passenger Needs:
RailOne is designed to consolidate various passenger services into a single platform, eliminating the need for multiple apps. The app is available for download on both Android Play Store and iOS App Store, and it features a modern, user-friendly interface. Among its key offerings–
- Unreserved and platform ticket booking, with a 3% discount
- Live train tracking for real-time updates
- Grievance redressal system
- E-catering, porter booking, and last-mile taxi services
Though reserved tickets will continue to be handled by IRCTC, RailOne has received authorization from IRCTC as a commercial app partner, similar to other approved applications in the ecosystem.
Streamlined Access and Compatibility:
RailOne supports single sign-on functionality, allowing users to log in using biometric authentication or mPIN. It is also compatible with existing credentials from RailConnect and UTS, making the transition smooth for existing railway app users. Its space-saving design ensures passengers don’t need to download multiple apps for different services.
PRS Upgrade – A Leap Toward Future-Ready Railways:
During the event, the Railway Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the digital core of Indian Railways and appreciated CRIS for its ongoing efforts. He highlighted the significant progress made on Modernizing the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), which is targeted for completion by December 2025.
The upgraded PRS system promises–
- Tenfold increase in capacity
- Multilingual and agile platform
- Capability to handle 1.5 lakh bookings and 40 lakh enquiries per minute
Inclusive features such as seat preference, fare calendar, and options for Divyangjan, students, and patients
Driving Digital Transformation in Indian Railways:
The launch of RailOne reflects Indian Railways’ alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming it into the growth engine of India’s Vikas Yatra. It is yet another step in democratizing access to rail services through digital empowerment, offering passengers a world-class, seamless travel experience.
Conclusion:
The RailOne app in Indian Railway’s tech-enabled passenger service delivery. By combining multiple features under a single platform, RailOne not only ensures convenience but also aligns with the broader goal of a digitally empowered India.
