Pune: MD Dr Brijesh Dixit said that Maha Metro remains committed to utmost sensitivity towards the environment concerning the project and will ensure that there is no adverse impact while taking all the mitigation measures recorded by the expert committee.
The applicant in this case had approached NGT objecting construction of Metro Rail to the extent of 1.3 km in Mutha river bed in May 2016. The Honourable Tribunal in its order dated 13th October 2017 constituted an expert committee to study the matter in detail and conduct spot inspection. The expert committee submitted its report 4th January 2018 and made certain suggestions and recommendations.
Hon.NGT while disposing off the matter has observed that the observations and recommendations of the expert committee approved by the NGT in its report be complied with by Maha Metro and the work would be inspected by expert committee along with divisional commissioner, Pune. Maha Metro may go ahead with the project construction work in Mutha river bed, the NGT observed.
