Noida Metro Update : Noida – Greater Noida Metro Line To Be Open to Public by October

Noida: The Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor (Aqua Line) is scheduled to be thrown open to public by October. The Metro line was earlier scheduled to be inaugurated in September. However, it would be sending request for the final inspection by commissioner for metro rail safety (CMRS) by September-end, the NMRC said.

More Information:

  • The signalling work is likely to be completed by September-end after which CMRS will invited for the final inspection.
  • The inspection and final approval process may take 15 days.
  • The RDSO (Research Designs & Standards Organisation), has already conducted oscillation trials on a stretch of 10 km (from Depot station to Sector 147) and the report is expected shortly.
  • The 29.8km Metro corridor will have 21 stations.
  • Both the RSS (Receiving Sub-Station) have now been commissioned and power can be made available from both the sources to the train operations & station requirements.
  • Auxiliary Substation (ASS) at all 21 metro stations have also been commissioned.
  • A total of 11 trains are required to start the commercial operations immediately.
  • As on date, 5 trains are already undergoing extensive testing, while the next 6 are expected to be delivered in September.
  • The NMRC has inked a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) to oversee the maintenance & operations of the Metro corridor for initial years.
