In a significant step, Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, NHSRCL, along with directors, contractors, consultants, and senior officials, conducted a two-day inspection of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor.
Focus on Safety and Quality Standards:
The inspection emphasized strict compliance with safety measures and high-quality construction standards, critical to the timely delivery of India’s first bullet train project.
Review of Station Developments:
The team visited major upcoming bullet train stations at Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati, evaluating civil, structural, and passenger amenity works under progress.
Track Laying and Bridge Construction Sites:
Progress of track laying activities was reviewed, including the critical steel bridge at Nadiad and river bridge works, ensuring smooth alignment for the high-speed corridor.
Depot and Line Construction Assessment:
At Sabarmati, the construction of the rolling stock depot was assessed along with a detailed review of construction activities across different railway line sections to ensure seamless integration.
Launch of 100-Meter Steel Bridge Span for Bullet Train Corridor:
- The first 100-meter span of a twin 100-meter steel bridge for the Bullet Train corridor was successfully launched over NH-48 near Nadiad, Gujarat.
- Weighing 1,414 metric tons and fabricated in Uttar Pradesh, the bridge features high-strength bolts, C5 painting, elastomeric bearings, and a 100-year design life, highlighting ‘Make in India’ excellence.
