Mumbai Metro Update: MMRDA Receives Eight Bids For Civil Work Of Metro 2B Corridor From DN Nagar to Bandra-Kurla Complex

Mumbai: Eight companies have shown interest for the civil work of the Phase-I of Metro corridor 2B from the DN Nagar – BKC (Bandra-Kurla Complex).

UPS Madan, additional metropolitan commissioner, MMRDA said,“We have received eight bids for the civil work of 2B corridor. The lowest bidder will be awarded the work after approval from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (MMRDA) executive committee.”

The eight companies are-

  • Simplex
  • JMC Projects Ltd
  • Afcons Infrastructure
  • Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
  • J Kumar Infrastructure
  • Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS)
  • SEL-SPSCPL Joint Venture
  • CHEC-TPL Joint Venture

These companies have submitted their technical and financial bids for the Phase one that costs around Rs 900 crore.

The short-listed company will be responsible for constructing viaducts connecting 11 metro stations between DN Nagar & BKC.

About The Metro Corridor-

  • The 23.64km long Metro-2B elevated corridor from DN Nagar to Mandale will have 22 metro stations.
  • The estimated cost of the project is around Rs 1,900 crore (approx US$ 293 Million).
  • The civil works for the corridor likely to begin by the December-end.
