Mumbai: The tracks for Andheri east to Dahisar east (Metro 7) corridor will be laid down by June, said a MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) official. About 45% of the civil work of the corridor has been completed. The corridor will be open to the public by 2019.
“We are expecting to start laying down the tracks for the corridor by June; the tendering process for the tracks has already been started this year. At the places where the barricading has been removed, we have already started laying curve stone to clear the route for traffic,” a senior MMRDA official said.
Barricades will soon be removed from other sites as well, according to the MMRDA.
The official said,“Barricades up to 2km have been removed from Bandongri. Further, we are planning to have plantations below the corridor.”
“We have diverted gas cables up to 1km in several stretches and water pipelines have also been diverted to the tune of 500 to 700 metre,” he added.
