MMRDA seeks to Connect Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s T2 to Bhayandar with New Metro Corridor

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that it is in the final stages of drafting a report for the construction of the Metro corridor which will connect T2 to Bhayandar  .

Further Information :

  1. It seeks to connect this by interconnecting three Metro corridors namely the Bhayandar-Dahisar East Metro corridor with Dahisar East and Andheri East Metro corridor going up to T2 .
  2. The second Metro corridor connecting T2 will begin from the Western Express Highway (WEH) at Andheri East and go up to T2 via beneath the 6-foot tall bronze statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji outside the Airport and off the WEH.
  3. The MMRDA has said that it is in the final stages of drafting the report and the second Metro corridor will be partially elevated and partially underground due to height restrictions around the airport.
