Pune: The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited – Pune Project has joined hands with Bureau Veritas India Private Limited (BVIL) for setting up a Material Testing Laboratory for the construction of Pune Metro Rail Project.
Mr. Ramnath Subramanian, Executive Director, Maha Metro and Mr. Joerg Gmeinbauer – Vice President, I&F Marketing & Sales, Bureau Veritas HO, Paris inaugurated the facility and laboratory. The senior management team of Maha Metro, Bureau Veritas and Systra – General Consultant Team, attended the event.
This laboratory reinforces the vision of Mr. Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director of Maha Metro to deliver and execute the metro project with high level of quality standards. Bureau Veritas, a global company brings in its knowledge of local and international standards and codes, experience and expertise in providing testing facilities at Pune. Under this model Bureau Veritas stays committed to provide seamless and consistent testing facilities for various materials which will be used in construction of Metro Rail in Pune.

The laboratory is established in Near Civil Court, Shivaji Nagar, spread across the area of 6,000 sq.ft. and is equipped with the latest equipment and highly trained technicians to carry out the functions. The laboratory will also cater to the needs of all Government, Semi Government & private establishments & contractors.
This is the second testing laboratory of Maha Metro in association with Bureau Veritas, first being at Nagpur in 2017. This laboratory will facilitate to test the material in a short time reducing the turnaround time, which would help meet project timelines and all testing reports will be made available online.
