Pune: The MahaMetro has initiated steps to prepare detailed designs of two Metro rail depots coming up at Vanaz & Range Hills. A consultant firm has been appointed through a bidding process for designing them. The finalization of the designs was expected in the next 6 months, an official said.
The civil work of both the depots would begin after the finalization of designs & sketches, officials of MahaMetro on Friday stated.
The Vanaz depot would come up on 28 acres of land & the Range Hills depot would be on 34 acre.
Their estimated cost is Rs 5.6 crore.
It would float tenders to appoint agencies for the construction of the depots, the MahaMetro said.
The tender details would be finalized on the basis of the report submitted by the consultant firm, which would offer services during the civil work of depots.
While the civil work of the Metro project on Karve Road would start around March, the foundation work of Anandnagar & Vanaz stations was likely to begin in the next few days, MahaMetro said.
