Lucknow: LMRC (Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation) received green signal from Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) to start Metro Rail commercial operations. For this, LMRC is seeking a convenient date soon to launch the project for the public.
Launch seems probable by the end of August or by the first week of September, sources said.
- “Our project is ready to carry passengers whenever the government decides to launch it for revenue operations. We have written to the government seeking an appropriate date to start trains on priority section as we have submitted copies of all tests cleared and approvals achieved,” a senior LMRC official said.
- The CM has yet not blocked any date but talks are on to launch Metro trains in the next 15-20 days, Government sources said.
- “We have submitted the file for the CM’s nod. The date will depend on the convenience of many leaders from the state government as well as the Centre so that is being worked out. But we are trying to seek a date this month itself,” another official said.
- Metro trains will be ready to ply on the 8.5 km priority section from Transport Nagar-Charbagh, with the government’s nod.
