Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) always gives priority to comfort and satisfaction of its commuters. With the goal of making its facilities more customer friendly, Lucknow Metro makes great effort to put in place new technical advances, so that travelling becomes easy and hassle free. LMRC regularly keeps upgrading its Automatic Ticket Vending Machine and Recharge Card Terminal Machine for the benefit of customers and also takes special initiatives to aware passengers about automatic ticketing.
In this order LMRC conducted a “special five day drive” from August 28, 2018 to September 1, 2018 at all the eight operational Metro stations between the Transport Nagar and the Charbagh of the “Priority Corridor”.During this drive, the Ticket Office Machines (TOMs) meant for manual sale of tokens/smart cards at all Metro stations shall be closed to promote the usage of the automatic Recharge Card Terminal Machine (RCTM) and the automatic Token Vending Machine (TVM).
In view of the passenger’s convenience, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and Recharge Card Terminal Machines (RCTMs) on Metro stations are being modernized continuously . Software of these machines are updated on regular basis and these machines are now accepting new denominations of Rs 10 and Rs 50 notes. As these machines cannot make transactions in coins, so arrangements have also been made to provide the passengers with cash instead of coins on Metro station. Commuters can exchange their coins from Metro Passenger Assistant Room. In case if your note gets wet due to the rain, it can also be exchanged at the Metro station.
LMRC is making efforts so that passengers don’t have to worry about cash while buying ticket from Automatic Ticket Vending Machines and recharging ‘go smart’ card from Recharge Card Terminal Machines in future. They will be able to make payment with the help of debit or credit card and automatic ticketing will become more friendly for the commuters. Lucknow Metro had initiated this special drive from February this year and in this series, special drives are organized twice a month.
