To meet the expectations of the public, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) today successfully commenced the load test by the two Metro trains on its viaduct for the balance section of the North-South (Phase-1A) Corridor. This is yet another milestone received by the Lucknow Metro towards commissioning of the public services for the whole 22.878 km long Corridor from CCS Airport to Munshipulia. It started with the auspicious Pooja ceremony performed by Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director LMRC at Charbagh Metro station along with other senior officials and engineers of the company at 6.30 am.
The trains moved from Charbagh at 6.30 am and reached at newly constructed 177 meter long balanced cantilever bridge over Gomti River where these two trains will stay for 24 hours for the load testing on the bridge. After completing the load test on Gomti Bridge, the Metro trains will move further to 60 Meter Special Steel Span near Nishatganj and will stay there again for 24 hours. After completing all the necessary test and trials over the special spans, the metro trains will be back to Charbagh on 31st December, 2018. All efforts are being made by LMRC to commence signalling trials and integrated testing and commissioning trials on the balance section of the North-South corridor (Phase 1-A) so as to commission it as per the target stipulated by the government.
To make the test possible, LMRC has recently completed the work of Over Head Electrification (OHE) and charged the OHE at midnight to feed power supply to the traction. It is now a record that a Metro Project of such magnitude is heading towards completion before the set time of period.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director said “It is a precious day for LMRC and I appreciate the extreme hard work and dedication of the whole team of LMRC, our contractors and GC involved in completing this tough task in a very strict time frame.”
