LMRC Starts OHE Mast Erection Between Lekhraj Market Metro Station And RS Mishra Nagar Metro Station

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has started the work for installing 25 KV overhead flexible catenary system between the Lekhraj market Metro station and the RS Mishra Nagar Metro station.

Erection of Over Head Electrification (OHE) for providing 25 KV traction power to the Metro Trains commenced with effect from 26th Dec, 2017. The OHE masts are being erected successively on this elevated stretch between the two Metro stations

The OHE mast erection is being done simultaneously with the installation of U-Girders in this section in order to expedite the process and complete the section up to Munshipulia and make the entire stretch ready for trial runs.

A total of 625 OHE steel masts will be installed in the elevated section between KD Singh Babu Stadium and Munshipulia. The cantilever erection which are procured from Germany will follow the mast erection process to hold the final conductor used for collection of currents by the train at 25000 volts.

The OHE work is a highly skilled job which involves various electrical, mechanical and safety clearances to be taken during installation in order to make 25000 volts flow through the conductors safely. The Receiving Sub Station (RSS) situated at the Munushipulia in the premises of Women’s polytechnic shall feed power to this corridor once the work is completed at this location.
