CRS Inspects Esplanade-Sealdah Section of Green Line:
Taking a crucial leap, Shri Sumeet Singhal, conducted a detailed inspection of the Esplanade-Sealdah section of the Kolkata Metro’s Green Line. He was accompanied by Shri Anuj Mittal, Principal Chief Engineer (PCE)/Metro Railway and Managing Director (MD) of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL), along with other senior officials.
High-Level Participation During Inspection:
The inspection saw the active participation of top officials from Metro Railway and KMRCL. Their presence underscored the significance of the Esplanade-Sealdah section in the overall expansion of the Green Line and the upcoming operational integration of critical metro sections in Kolkata.
Testing of CBTC System Across Green Line:
In parallel with the inspection, testing of the Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) system is being conducted across the entire Green Line corridor — from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector V. The testing is scheduled from 26th April 2025 (Saturday) to 28th April 2025 (Monday), ensuring the readiness of the signaling and train operations systems.
