The much-anticipated Jagdalpur-Koraput Railway Doubling Project is steadily progressing, with 86 km out of the total 106 km already commissioned. The project is poised to boost freight handling capacity, enhance connectivity between Chhattisgarh and Odisha, improve access to essential services, and support the growth of local industries.
Monthly Progress Overview:
Main Line (Jagdalpur-Koraput Section)
- Track linking: 2,900 meters completed.
- Earthwork: Filling, cutting, and hard rock excavation completed.
- Bridges:
- Two major bridges (586m and 610m) completed.
- Minor bridges completed.
- Station & Platform Work:
- Jarati station building completed.
- Circulating area brickwork and drain concrete casting in progress.
- Platform shelter fabrication and erection ongoing.
JRT-MVG Section Progress:
- Earthwork:
- Cutting: 115,000 cubic meters completed.
- Hard rock excavation: 18,000 cubic meters completed.
- Major Bridges:
- Bridge 652: All five spans deck slab casting completed.
- Bridge 669: Six spans composite girder launching completed.
- Tunnel Works:
- Tunnel 1: Portal work in progress; tunnel lining completed.
- Tunnel 2: Overt lining – 68m completed.
- Tunnel 5: Overt lining – 51m completed.
- Tunnel 6: Overt lining – 40m completed (8m remaining).
- Other Works:
- One minor bridge was completed.
- Concrete works: 2,600 cubic meters completed.
