Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH) has submitted an application to the CMRS (Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety) to inspect the Ameerpet-L.B. Nagar section of metro rail project and CMRS inspection was expected towards the end of this month.
- A senior official said,”Application to Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) had already been submitted and CMRS inspection was expected towards the end of this month after receipt of safety assessment report of the CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) system from Halcrow, UK, who was the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for the signalling system of Hyderabad Metro Rail project.”
- The essential works has been completed in the 16 km long stretch between Ameerpet- L.B. Nagar and the section could be opened for the general public in the early part of September.
- Emphasising the importance of Ameerpet-LB Nagar stretch, Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy urged the engineers to showcase the heritage aspects of the city in the urban rejuvenation works in this stretch, especially between the Assembly and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) which is being developed by HMRL as a ‘heritage precinct’.
- The two stretches of Miyapur-Ameerpet (13 km, Corridor-I) and Ameerpet-Nagole (17 km, Corridor-III of Nagole to Hi-Tec City/Raidurg) “are doing very well” with an average daily patronage of more than 80,000 and this has been increasing day by day.
