Hyderabad Metro: 40 km green corridor connecting Shamshabad Airport to Future City via Raviryal

Hyderabad’s Green Corridor Metro is set to revolutionize urban transport, linking Shamshabad Airport to Future City in just 40 minutes. Led by Metro MD NVS Reddy, the project promises swift, eco-friendly connectivity with a 40-km metro corridor. This ambitious initiative aligns with CM Revanth Reddy’s vision of a world-class, sustainable metropolis.

Future City: The Next Urban Marvel:

Metro MD NVS Reddy inspected the proposed Future City Metro Corridor, emphasizing the government’s goal of developing Future City as the fourth major urban hub. Envisioned as a pollution-free, high-tech metropolis, this 15,000-acre development will be supported by a state-of-the-art metro system, seamlessly integrating with Hyderabad’s existing  infrastructure.

High-Speed, Sustainable Connectivity:

The 40-km Green Corridor Metro will offer direct access between Shamshabad Airport and Future City via Raviryal, reducing travel time and enhancing urban mobility. Key route highlights:

  • Starts at Shamshabad Airport terminal
  • Runs along Mansanpally Road for 5 km
  • Connects to Pedda Golconda ORR Exit
  • Features metro stations at Bahadurguda & Pedda Golconda
  • Covers a 14-km elevated stretch along ORR
  • Extends to Skill University at Meerkhanpet
  • Transitions into an At-Grade corridor along Green Field Road

Strategic Urban Planning for a Global City:

HAML is preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this metro corridor, ensuring integration with Hyderabad’s broader transportation network. The DPR will be finalized by March, followed by government approvals for execution. This metro expansion is expected to boost Hyderabad’s global investment appeal and accelerate urban development.

Overcoming Challenges & Paving the Way Forward:

During site visits, Metro MD NVS Reddy and his team navigated challenging terrains, emphasizing their commitment to seamless execution. His foresight in reserving metro space along the Outer Ring Road (ORR)—once deemed impractical—is now turning into a game-changer for Hyderabad’s mobility.

Conclusion:

The Green Corridor Metro will redefine Hyderabad’s transit landscape with fast, sustainable, and integrated connectivity. By aligning with modern urban planning and environmental goals, this project propels Hyderabad towards a smart, globally competitive future, ensuring seamless movement for residents, businesses, and investors in the emerging Future City.
