Eastern DFC Update: An Open Web Girder Launched at Rail Flyover On Hathras Detour of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor

Khurja: Another significant Milestone achieved in the construction of Bhaupur-Khurja section of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) on Friday. An Open Web girder at Rail Flyover on Hathras detour of EDFC spanning over 3 running lines of Mathura- Kasganj route of North Eastern Railway near “Mendu” Railway station was successfully launched.

More Information:

  • Steel girder of 11m height (equivalent to a 3 storey building) and span of 44.85m, weighing approx 650 MT (equivalent to 2 heavy air carriers) was launched in a traffic block of 2 hours with a meticulous planning & execution.
  • It will carry two tracks of DFC corridor.
  • It took around 12 months of dedicated and untiring efforts of Team DFCC (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India), M/s TATA- ALDESA JV (contractor) and M/s SYSTRA (PMC) in fabrication, transportation and erection of this Open Web Girder which is one of its kind in the country.
